Shawndria McCoy is a native of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, but considers Raleigh to be her home having moved to Raleigh in 2008. She graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice in 2000, Meredith College’s Paralegal Program in 2009, and earned a Juris Doctor Degree from North Carolina Central University in 2012.
Shawndria is the Founding and Managing Attorney at the Law Firm of Shawndria McCoy, PLLC, which opened in 2014 in Raleigh, North Carolina. She practices in the areas of traffic and criminal law, expungements, uncontested divorce, pre-nuptial and separation agreements, automobile accidents, and adult and minor name changes. The Firm accepts matters across the state of North Carolina. Shawndria is licensed to practice in all North Carolina state courts.
Although most cases settle before reaching trial, Shawndria is not afraid to take a case to jury trial. The Law Firm of Shawndria McCoy will work hard and long for each and every individual client. Shawndria attributes her successes to God and her familial role models. She was further inspired by the work of the late Johnny L. Cochran and credits him as influencing her decision to pursue a legal career. When she is not busily advocating on behalf of her clients, Shawndria can be found spending time with her family, shopping, or traveling.
Isa Gratacós-Padró is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, having earned her Juris Doctor in June 2002. Isa was admitted to the bar of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in 2003, the United States District Court of Puerto in 2003, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
As Immigration Counsel, Isa has successfully represented clients applying for a green card, U.S. citizenship, employment visas, and Deferred Action Childhood Arrivals before the following tribunals: Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of State, Immigration Courts Board of Immigration Appeals, and Executing Office of Immigration Review. Moreover, Isa advises various commercial entities on immigration procedures for employment as well as ensuring immigrant employees’ compliance with the Department of Labor’s recruiting stipulations. She has served as a Spanish-English interpreter for clients whose second language is English.
As well as being an experienced Immigration Attorney, Isa practices Social Security Disability Law. Her prior legal experience boasts having represented a wealth of clients in Complex Commercial Litigation, Bankruptcy, Real Estate, Environmental, Mortgages and Foreclosures, Title and Casualty Insurance Claims, and Tax Law. Isa has argued before the First Circuit United States Court of Appeals Bankruptcy Appellate Panel. She has litigated more than 300 trials and appellate hearings.
Isa is currently a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
Isa has a heart for her clients and is passionate about helping all people even if that means sacrificing her own desires. It is no secret that Isa makes all of her clients a priority and ensures to be their support throughout the legal process. When she is not avidly advising and representing clients, Isa enjoys spending time with her family and attending her children’s extra-curricular activities.
Randal “Rosie” Rijo
Randal “Rosie” Rijo was born in Puerto Rico, but was raised in the Dominican Republic until the age of four. She moved to Raleigh, North Carolina along with her family in 2007, by way of Paterson, New Jersey. After graduating from Sanderson High School in Raleigh in 2013, she earned her Associates of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies at Miller-Motte College having served as an intern at the Law Firm of Shawndria McCoy, PLLC. She graduated in 2016 and immediately joined the Firm as a Paralegal.
Rosie plays an integral role in the intake of new cases and works closely with each and every client ensuring to keep clients abreast of the progress of their case. Rosie is aware of the status of each case and remains involved with all clients each step of the way throughout the entire legal representation. Rosie presents herself with the highest level of professionalism and has become a favorite among our clients.
In her spare time, Rosie can be found spending time with her family and improving her skills and education. She is currently studying at Strayer University where she is pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a Concentration in Criminal Justice Administration. Her long-term aspiration is to grow at the Firm and to continue to hone her legal skills while providing exceptional service to clients.
